I've wanted to build some version of this since I moved to San Francisco in 2014. I knew the recipe for making friends was going to be to find a place I liked being- at that time a group fitness class or the pool- and go back to that place at the same time, week after week. Eventually I found November Project on Monday mornings at Fort Mason, and 12 years, a few marathons and a kid later, I still want it to be easier to meet up with a friend for a park loop, or hit a pilates class at the studio next to the cute wine bar. Could you use a group text for this? Maybe, but I've got a whatsapp group, a phonebook full of numbers, a training plan, and friends with calendars even busier than mine.

my favorite part of social media has long been the "on this day" memories features, so i built my own version and deleted my instagram app! now when i want to scroll, i go see what i already put out in the world, and then i actually text or call the friends i had tagged 9 or more years ago. learned about storing large sets of data and image files.
